वाक्य का हिंदी में अनुवाद (translate )करते समय आ, ई ,ए और ता था ,ती थी, ते थे आता है
जैसे;
मैने सेब खाया ।
I ate apple .
Past indefinite tense के sentence
Past indefinite के sentence चार प्रकार के होते है ।
- Affirmative Sentence
- Negative Sentence
- Interrogative Sentence
- Interrogative Negative Sentence

Affirmative Sentence structure
Affirmative sentence को हिंदी में सकारात्मक वाक्य कहा जाता हैं । इनका formula निम्नलिखित प्रकार से होगा ।
- सबसे पहले subject आता है।
- इसके बाद Verb की 2nd form आती है।
- इसके बाद object आता है।
Sentence Structure:
Sub+verb 2nd form+object.
Example
Yesterday, i bought a new car.
कल मैने कार खरीदी।
They bought a house in Mumbai.
उन्होंने मुम्बई में एक घर खरीदा।
My grandmother told a story.
मेरी दादी ने कहानी सुनाई।
She bought a doll.
उसने एक गुड़िया खरीदी।
My brother went to Delhi.
उन्होंने मुंबई में घर खरीदा ।
The police caught the police last night
पिछली रात पुलिस ने चोर को पकड़ा।
I lived in Mumbai.
मै मुंबई मे रहता था।
He helped me.
उसने मेरी सहायता की।
He sang a song .
उसने गाना गया।
The carpenter repaired my table.
कारपेंटर ने मेरी मेज रिपेयर की।
They went to delhi to buy a car.

Negative Sentence structure
Negative वाक्यों में नहीं आता है ।
- सबसे पहले subject आता है ।
- Negative वाक्यों में सब्जेक्ट के बाद Did not आता है।
- इसके बाद verb की 1st form आती हैं।
- इसके बाद object आता है
Sentence structure:
Sub+did not +v1st +object.
Example
He did not eat the food .
उसने खाना नहीं खाया।
I did not pluck a flower
मैने फूल नहीं तोड़े।
The child did not cry.
बच्चा नहीं रोया।
Mamta did not take the food
ममता ने खाना नहीं खाया।
The patient did not take the treatment.
रोगी ने इलाज नहीं करवाया।
He did not see the film.
उसने फिल्म नहीं देखी।
She did not sing a song.
उसने गाना नहीं गया।
I did not take tea.
मैने चाय नहीं पी।

Interrogative Sentence structure
ऐसे वाक्यों में प्रश्न पूछे जाते है।
Interrogative Sentence दो तरह के हो सकते है पहले जिनकी शुरुआत helping verb से होती है दूसरे जिनकी शुरुआत wh- family question word से होती है।
1. Helping verb से शुरू होने वाले sentence
अगर कोई sentence क्या से शुरू होता है सबसे पहले did आता है ।
फिर सब्जेक्ट के साथ verb की 1st form आती है।
Sentence structure:
Did+sub.+v1st+object?
Examples
Did you complete your work.
क्या तुमने अपना काम पूरा कर लिया ।
Did you play football.
क्या तुमने फुटबाल खेला।
Did you see the Taj Mahal
क्या तुमने ताजमहल देखा।
Did the teacher teach the students.
क्या अध्यापक ने विद्यार्थियों को पढ़ाया।

2. Wh- word से शुरू होने वाले sentence
अगर किसी sentence के बीच मे प्रश्न सूचक शब्द आता है तो सबसे पहले उस शब्द की हिंदी करेंगे फिर did आता है इसके बाद subject फिर verb की form और ऑब्जेक्ट आता है।
Sentence structure
Wh- question word+did +subject+verb 1st+object?
Where did he come from Mumbai ?
वह मुंबई से कब आया ?
Why did your mother beat you?
तुम्हारी मां ने तुम्हे क्यों पीटा ?
When did you meet her last.
तुम उससे आखरी बार कब मिले ?
Interrogative Negative Sentence structure
ऐसे वाक्यों में प्रश्न भी पूछा जाता है और नहीं भी आता है ।

Use of past indefinite tense
- अतीत में निश्चित समय पर हुए कार्य के लिए
I saw him yesterday.
मैने उसे कल देखा ।
Nehru died in 1964.
नेहरू की मृत्यु 1964 में हुई ।
I met shyam yesterday.
मैने श्याम को कल देखा ।
(इन वाक्यों में yesterday, ago, last, in+year आता है।)
- पिछले समय की आदत बताने के लिए
When I was in Mumbai,i always got up early in the morning.
जब मैं मुंबई में था , मै हमेशा सुबह जल्दी उठता था ।
Gandhiji always spoke the truth.
गांधी जी हमेशा सच बोलता थे ।
- ऐतिहासिक घटनाओं का वर्णन करने के लिए
Shahjahan built the Taj.
Columbus discovered America.
अतीत के उस कार्य के लिए जो निश्चित समय पर हुआ था चाहे उसका समय नहीं बताया गया हो
Kamal arrived 10 minute late.
कमल दस मिनट देरी से आया।
- अगर वाक्य का एक भाग में past continuous tense है तो दूसरा भाग past indefinite tense(v2nd ) में होगा।
He said that he was going to America.
I was taking my lunch when he arrived.
- भूतकाल की शर्त के लिए अगर एक भाग म would/could/should+verb ki 1st form हो तो दूसरे भाग में आता है।
He would pass if he worked hard.
If I won lottery ,i would buy a car.
Before के बाद
The patient had died before the doctor arrived.
- After से पहले
The train left after we have left the station.
